DATES: Internship begins July 1, 2024 and ends June 30, 2025
STIPEND: $31,000
BENEFITS: Medical Insurance and Prescription Plan (with small employee contribution
towards premium cost); Optional Dental Plan available at low premiums (Benefits initiate 60 days after effective day of hire);
15 Vacation Days, 12 Sick Days, and 8 Paid Holidays.

If you are interested in the possibility of an adult correctional/forensic (prison-based) externship, contact Dr. Mitch Abrams- abramsmi@ubhc.rutgers.edu. No general externships are available at the Newark UBHC site. Externs are accepted only some years, when appropriate supervision is available, and typically, students are strongly preferred from programs with whom UBHC and/or UCHC has standing affiliation agreements, such as Rutgers University.
No formal training opportunities are currently available for undergraduate students and students enrolled in terminal Master’s level programs. However, staff positions (typically, “Mental Health Specialist” and related positions) may be found at the website, http://uhr.rutgers.edu/.
