Next 2nd Chance

The Next 2nd Chance Initiatives provide solution-focused platforms to enhance the ability of justice-involved consumers, criminal justice professionals and behavioral health service providers to work collaboratively. The aim is toward the common goal of identifying and addressing the “gaps” in treatment and services as well as promoting those interventions and strategies that have proven effective when working with people recovering their lives during or after involvement with the criminal justice system.

The Next 2nd Chance Advisory Councils are quarterly meetings with people who have lived experience with both the behavioral health and the criminal justice systems. Members share their thoughts, perspectives, and opinions in order to assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of the services offered at the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care.
