Dr. Stephanie Duva is Program Director for The Behavioral Research and Training Institute, and Chief Psychologist for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), where she also serves as a member of the executive committee. She is the Director of the Psychology Internship program for doctoral students in both Piscataway and Newark. Dr. Duva has certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is actively involved in the training and supervision of UBHC staff who are implementing evidence-based practices with people who have a serious mental illness, substance use disorder and/or extensive trauma histories.

Dr. Duva is a licensed psychologist who is an expert in working with people that have posttraumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, and serious mental illness. She has worked as both a consultant and supervisor to train staff in best practices for this population, and has presented on her work at several national forums. Dr. Duva has also conducted research on treatments for these populations and has published several articles on these topics.

Dr. Duva received a BA from the College of New Jersey, an MA from LaSalle University, and a Ph.D. from Temple University. She completed a predoctoral internship at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital and a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of Schizophrenia Research at UBHC.

Ravi Maharajh, M.A., Ed.S, LPC is Program Manager in the Center for Continuing Education, Behavioral Research and Training Center at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Mr. Maharajh is a Licensed Professional Counselor, having received an Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy and M.A. in Psychological Studies at Seton Hall University. He has been working with adults and children with severe and persistent mental illness for over 14 years. His clinical work has primarily been in a crisis setting, working both in the Newark and Piscataway campus designated screening centers. He served as the Clinician Supervisor for Acute Psychiatric Services – Piscataway before accepting his current role in the UBHC Center for Continuing Education. He is an Approved Clinical Supervisor through the Center for Credentialing and Education, offering supervision to candidates with their LAC and/or LPC. 

In addition, Mr. Maharajh has been a certified instructor for Non-violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) since 2004, training many programs throughout UBHC. Mr. Maharajh is involved with the Trauma Informed Care & Workplace Violence Prevention committees at UBHC.
