Carl W. O'Brien serves as Chief Financial Officer at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC). He oversees an annual operating budget of approximately $300 million, of which two-thirds is derived from State and Federal contracts. Mr. O'Brien has direct responsibility for the areas of financial reporting, decision support and revenue cycle operations. Prior to joining Rutgers, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Somerset Medical Center. He has also worked as a Health Care Consultant for EY, where he served a diverse client base including major academic institutions, community hospitals, and physician group practices. Mr. O’Brien obtained his Master’s degree in Business Administration from Drexel University and his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Franklin & Marshall College. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
