Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program - Piscataway

The Piscataway Child and Adolescent Partial Hospital Program is a da program (CAPHP) for youth ages 13 - 17.  Youth in this program typically have histories of psychiatric hospitalizations or residential treatment or are at risk for such treatments.  The CAPHP provides full-day programming from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM.  The full day program provides 5 hours of psychiatric and therapuetic services.  The school instruction devised is bsed on the school the youth attends.  Education is typically completed at home.  

the clinical services for the full-day componentes include individual and family therapy with a primary clinician (social worker or psychologist) and group therapy by age group.  Daily milieu activies are led by mental health specialists.  Within the context of the program services, the  youth have opportunities to devlop social and adaptive skills while stabilizing acute symptoms.  All youth meet with a psychiatrist at admission and throughout their treatment course.  

Referral to the Piscataway Child Partial Hospitalization Program is made by professionals by completing a referral packet.  Youth may also be referred from other  youth outpatient services, private therapist and schools.
