School Based Services facilitate a comprehensive range of behavioral health services for students attending schools in their home school districts. The goal of school based programs is to create healthy environments for learning by partnering with schools in developing prevention and intervention strategies that promote academic and life success for all of the students. Specifically, school-based programs help to identify and intervene during the early stages of problematic behavior and assist parents and school personnel in developing comprehensive strategies for addressing these behaviors. Depending upon the individual site, services may include prevention programming, professional development, crisis assessment, psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management and monitoring, case management, assessment, and referral. When clinically indicated, referrals are made for acute medical or psychiatric services. Program services are designed based on the needs of the school community served.
