Thomas V. Papathomas

Thomas Papathomas received his BS, MS, and PhD from Columbia University. He is Director of the Laboratory of Vision Research in the Rutgers Center for Cognitive Science, Professor of Biomedical Engineering, and serves as Busch Campus Dean at Rutgers University. He is also a member of the Graduate Program in Psychology and the Graduate Program in Neuroscience at Rutgers University. He works on brain research and is particularly interested in visual perception. In the last few years he has been studying sensory-motor interactions and differences in the perception of three-dimensional faces and scenes between schizophrenia patients and healthy controls. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles and papers. Thomas has designed exhibits for science museums and he won third prize in the 2008 International Best Illusion of the Year contest.
