Cori Nunziata, LSW

Behavioral Health Consultant, RUISTP, 2023-2024


Cori Nunziata received her BA in Psychology from Rutgers University and her MSW from Fordham University, and is a Licensed Social Worker in the state of NJ. Cori is a Behavioral Health Consultant Fellow under the RUISTP program, with placements at Henry J Austin Health Center, Eric B Chandler Health Center, and the RWJ Medical School Child Health Institute of NJ. Cori has a special interest in children and adolescents, and her primary focus at her placements has been in adolescent medicine and specialty pediatrics. Prior to her BHC Fellowship at Rutgers, Cori worked extensively in medical social work at JFK Medical Center, Penn Medicine at Princeton and RWJUH. Cori specialized in nephrology social work for the bulk of her career, practicing in outpatient hemodialysis and periotenial centers, with a focus on mental health awareness and wellness. Cori then shifted her focus to clinical work, providing psychotherapy to clients in the private practice realm, with a focus on CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing techniques.

Cori has a special interest in food insecurity and food waste. During the pandemic, Cori founded Operation Full Bellies and Full Hearts, a volunteer organization providing meals and other essentials to those in the community who were food insecure and struggling with other essential items. Other areas of interest include cooking, photography, and pickleball.
