Kelly MacDonald, LSW

Behavioral Health Consultant, E-RUISTP Fellow, 2025-2026


Kelly MacDonald received her bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia and her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University, where she specialized in mental and behavioral health. She is a licensed social worker in the state of New Jersey. Kelly is a Behavioral Health Consultant in the Expanded RU Integrated Substance Use Disorder Training Program (ERUISTP) of Rutgers UBHC. She has worked in nonprofit and private practice outpatient mental health settings, treating both children and adults. Kelly also comes from a background in environmental science, where she worked on federal programs addressing environmental contamination and public health. In her work with clients, Kelly uses a collaborative and strengths-based approach to help clients reach their desired outcomes. She strongly believes in the value of holistic and accessible mental healthcare and appreciates the opportunity to advance integrated care at her fellowship placement in the University Hospital Ambulatory Care Center in Newark.
