Marissa Parks, MSED (she/her) is a psychology intern at Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC). She is completing a primary care rotation at Metropolitan Family Health Network in Jersey City, and a minor rotation with the Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinic at UBHC in Newark. She is a doctoral candidate in the School-Clinical Psychology PsyD at Pace University. Marissa has worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults in school settings, a community mental health clinic, and in an outpatient hospital program supporting adults living with cancer and the after-effects of treatment. Clinically, Marissa uses an integrative strengths-based approach to support clients in reaching their goals. Marissa’s research focuses on barriers to accessing care, including the role of discrimination in medical settings and how it impacts help-seeking behavior.
