Integrated Care Delivery at Rutgers

RUBHC has worked to develop and implement integrated care models in various primary care settings throughout Rutgers Health. By integrating behavioral health into medical settings, behavioral health providers are able to comprehensively address the individuals’ interrelated behavioral and physical health needs.

Primary goals of integrated care delivery include:

  • expanding access to effective behavioral healthcare
  • improving medical and behavioral health outcomes
  • increasing patient and provider satisfaction
  • reducing overall healthcare costs

The Rutgers Health initiative to integrate behavioral health into primary care medical settings additionally focuses on training licensed behavioral healthcare professionals to proficiently provide integrated care services. Training and program implementation is in partnership with RWJBarnabas, and Cherokee Health Systems, a nationally recognized leader in integrated care training and delivery.
