The purpose of this study is to determine whether thinning of the retina, which has been observed in people with schizophrenia, is also found in young adults who recently experienced their first episode of psychosis. Some prior research has suggested that retinal thinning does not occur until several years after the onset of schizophrenia, but no study has yet been conducted specifically in a group of people in treatment after their first psychotic episode. All participants in this study will have both eyes tested with optical coherence tomography, without the need for eye drops for pupillary anesthesia or dilation.
