Psychiatric Evaluation of Adolescent & Child Experiences (PEACE Program)

Provides psychiatric evaluation and support for children and adolescents.

Early Support for Youth

The PEACE program is designed to help young children and teens ages 6-14 years old where there is concern for psychosis, which may include hearing voices, seeing things that are not there, or believing things that are not true.

We are the only program in New Jersey to currently provide this specialty service for youth in this age range and thus provide both in person and virtual care throughout the state.

Other Conditions Can Look Like Psychosis

Symptoms associated with trauma, autism, OCD, and major depressive disorder can sometimes resemble psychosis, particularly in children who may have difficulty describing their thoughts, emotions, or experiences. Because symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, paranoia, or hearing voices can have different causes, a comprehensive evaluation can help determine what a young person is experiencing. If you have concerns about your child, contact us for an evaluation, we are here to help.

Where Do We Start?

The PEACE program begins with a thorough, compassionate assessment to understand your child’s needs and determine the most appropriate path forward. When treatment is recommended, an individualized care plan may include therapy, psychiatric and medication services, family education, case management, educational support, school collaboration, and referrals to additional resources. Services are available in person and through telehealth when appropriate.
