NJ Children’s System of Care Training & Technical Assistance

Training and technical assistance for professionals serving New Jersey’s Children’s System of Care.

Our training and technical assistance effort draws on a commitment to competency-based curriculum design, training grounded in adult learning and skill development principles, and the development of local expertise and training capacity. The Rutgers CSOC TTA team comprises subject matter experts in youth and family mental health, the Wraparound Model for systems of care, TCOM Child and Adolescent Needs & Strengths (CANS) tools, as well as adult learning and instructional design. We are proud to feature family members with lived experience as equal partners alongside mental health and learning professionals, supporting the program’s core Wraparound values.

Wraparound Based Training

Since our inception in 2003, Rutgers CSOC TTA has supported the system of care by providing training in NJ Wraparound Values & Principles, grounded in the national evidence-based Wraparound Model.

Full Inclusion of Family Voice

More than half of our team identify as family members of youth who experienced behavioral or mental health challenges. We also contract with five Family Facilitators to facilitate Child & Family Team training for new Care Managers and Family Support Partners.
